Sweet on Trader Joe's Saturday : Pumpkinpalooza (rewind)

It's September and you know what that means...BRING ON THE PUMPKIN!!! To get you prepared, we're offering up a little "rewind" post of 3 pumpkin reviews. Enjoy!

We're giving you not one, not two, but THREE Trader Joe's reviews this week. ALL PUMPKIN! Wahoo!

Give me all of the pumpkin things! You know...I pretty much love all things pumpkin EXCEPT a pumpkin spice latte. Is that weird? Let's see how Trader Joe's pumpkin goodies stack up.

1. Trader Joe's Pumpkin O's: a 12-ounce box costs $2.49. Described as a "Toasted whole grain cereal" that is low-fat, vegan, and gluten-free with 20 grams of whole grains.

A mom's (my) take: Love. These are a little lighter in texture than Cheerios with a definite pumpkin flavor. I like these for breakfast with almond milk and for a snack eaten out of hand...both with a few bittersweet chocolate chips mixed in. (Trust me.)
Overall rating: 5 of 5 stars

A teenager's (Jack's) take: These are lighter but also rougher on the outside than some similarly shaped cereals. The pumpkin flavoring is sort of like a glaze, which means that the sweetness of the pumpkin hits hard on first bite. However, a pleasant spiciness comes through later on. Although I'm typically not a pumpkin-crazy person, I could make an exception for these.
Overall rating: 5 out of 5 stars

2. Trader Joe's Iced Pumpkin Scone Cookies: An 8-ounce package will cost you $3.49. These cookies are described as "pumpkin cake cookies glazed in sweet icing."

A mom's (my) take: The texture of these cookies reminds me of a cake donut/doughnut (I can never decide how to spell that). A little crumbly, a little cakey, full of great pumpkin flavor with just the right amount of glaze. Serving size for these mini cookies is 2. Hmmm...I'm thinking, 4.
Overall rating 5 of 5 stars

A teenager's (Jack's) take: Personally, the first thing that hits is the glaze on the outside. A very slight spiciness comes out, accompanied by a pretty strong, sweet pumpkin flavor. Then, the classic texture of scone-ness comes out, something that I can't get enough of. They are somewhat rich, though, so don't eat too many! ;)
Overall rating: 5 out of 5 stars

3. Trader Joe's Pumpkin Cream Cheese Spread: an 8-ounce container costs $2.99.

A mom's (my) take: Someone is going to have to pry this out of my hands. Oh my gosh...sweet, tangy, spiced...perfect. Spread it on some toast, graham crackers...and I'm thinking it would be FABulous on a Panera Cinnamon Crunch Bagel. Who's with me?
Overall rating: 5 of 5 stars

A teenager's (Jack's) take: Although I definitely don't describe myself as a cream cheese aficionado, I really enjoy this one. It provides a cool, subtle pumpkin flavor that is certainly sweet and not to be missed. However, I can't perceive any spiciness or other "wow" factor that makes it stand out. But, overall, a great pick.
Overall rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Trader Joe's Pumpkinpalooza: We approve.
