Sweet on Trader Joe's Sunday: Coffee Glazed Almonds

Trader Joe's Coffee Glazed Almonds review

Jack is settled in at college, Hurricane Harvey has come and gone, Labor Day has passed (and I'm still wearing white jeans)...and Trader Joe's reviews are back.

Trader Joe's Coffee Glazed Almonds review

Instead of the mom/teenager reviews, Mr. E and I are bringing you "he said/she said." Or, she said/he said. Or, I say tomato/you say to-mah-to. I heard you; you want reviews...we're happy to oblige. We'll bring Jack back in when he's home on breaks. In the meantime, I'll be sending him TJ's care packages. ♥

You may know Mr. E from the blog. He loves loves pie, IPA beer, V-8 engines, ice cream, baseball, Trader Joe's frozen wonton soup, rock and roll (and the blues), a good project in the garage....and Jack and me. We love him back.

Our first review is Trader Joe's Coffee Glazed Almonds. You'll find these over with the other nuts; an 8-ounce bag costs $3.69.

Trader Joe's Coffee Glazed Almonds review

She says: I'm a sucker for coffee-flavored things. I always have been, even before I was a coffee drinker. That was influenced, I'm sure, by my mom and nana...they both loved an Arby's Jamocha Shakes. These almonds have a great crunch, but were different flavor-wise than I expected...less sweet. The coffee flavor is strong with just the slightest touch of sugar and salt and a slightly smoky aftertaste. These might be good in a snack or trail mix, but I'm not sure I'd want to eat the more than a couple on their own.
Overall rating: 3 of 5 stars

He (Mr. E) says: TJ's combines two of my favorite flavors with this tasty snack.  However, the flavor is a little more subtle than the advertised "loads of flavor." As much as I like plain, toasted almonds, these are trying to be a nice diversion from the norm (but I wouldn't go nuts for them).  I like the thought of coffee, the smell of coffee and even the sight of it, but I'd probably look the other way if these appeared before me again (unless I were in need of an ice cream topping and there was no chocolate around).
Overall rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

  2. Ah, Arby's Jamocha shake. A little piece of heaven... pair it with a medium roast beef sandwich covered with horsy sauce and I'm a happy girl. Haven't had either in years but my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. Glad you're safe..

  3. Lol Mr. E - "Wouldn't go nuts for them. . ." welcome to the party! I hope your empty nest is full of friends, flowers (hint-hint) and fur-balls.

Seems like maybe these would be good in a trail mix? Or a cookie? Thanks for the review.
