Sweet on Trader Joe's Saturday: Stelle di Notte Cookies

Weekly review of Trader Joe's sweets and desserts. This week: Trader Joe's Stelle di Notte Cookies | bakeat350.net

Please excuse our Trader Joe's review hiatus. I blame the holidays, two cases of the flu, one case of mild pneumonia, pink eye, and oh yeah...just general laziness on my part.

So, after reading about flu and pink eye, would you like to talk about cookies? (This post is really heading in a direction I didn't plan to take it.)

ANYHOO. Jack heads back to school tomorrow, so I thought he could help us out with one review while he's home. Today, we're reviewing Trader Joe's Stelle di Notte (Stars at Night) Cookies. They're described as cocoa hazelnut crispy cookies and come in a 12.3-ounce bag. I, of course, lost the receipt, so I can't tell you the price.

She says: Oh! These are good. The cookies hit all the right notes of chocolate, hazelnut, sweet, and crunch. The serving size says 4...but it's super easy to eat 8 (ahem) in one sitting. They're that good. Did I mention they're adorable? I love those little stars baked right in. these would be darling on a dessert table.
Overall rating: 5 of 5 stars

He says (Mr. E): The flavor and crispness are spot on!  With a little 2% milk, these really shine.  The cocoa is light but well-balanced, but the hazelnut flavor is a little hard to pick out for me.  I'm having a 3rd one just to be sure.  "And the answer is..."
Overall rating:  4 out of 5 stars

He says (Jack): These remind me of biscotti, but just in a cookie form! The cocoa flavor is definitely very strong, and the hazelnut flavor is definitely perceptible, although it could be stronger. The nice thing about these is that they are kind of small, and don't crumble--even though some crumbs come off, they are really small. These are perfect to hold you over until the next meal...or maybe make up a meal by themselves :)
Overall rating: 5 out of 5 stars
