Sweet on Trader Joe's Sunday: Blarney Scone, Irish Soda Bread

Trader Joe's, Blarney Scone, Irish Soda Bread review + Kerrygold butter

There was no passing up an Irish Soda Bread called the Blarney SCONE. If you have any Irish in your blood...or in your spirit...this is a must buy on name alone.

You'll find this in the bakery section at TJ's. In my store, that's at the back of produce. I have no idea how much it costs. I grabbed it and tossed it into my cart without looking. (I also misplaced the receipt.)

She says: This is a pretty good little soda bread. Don't go in thinking this is a moist or squishy bread - soda breads just aren't. This one is crumbly with a slight sweetness. I was so happy to taste caraway seeds in here along with the raisins. If you're not up to making Irish Soda Bread, you'll do well buying this one. I think I'll make one for St. Patrick's Day, though. This is my favorite recipe (an oldie but a goodie).

He (Mr. E) says: This was tasty, especially with a little Kerrygold butter.  It's been so long that I forgot this bread has raisins, and TJ's didn't skimp on them.  It was a perfect afternoon snack.
