I vividly remember the year my mom took us to confession (CONFESSION!!!) and when we got home, I realized we had missed The Grinch. I was in my early teens and, I hate to admit, I needed to go right back to confession after that realization. I probably did not honor my mom in that moment.
I always love Lucy:
{Notice how I put Lucy next to Schroeder? She would like that. }
Lucy Van Pelt: I know how you feel about all this Christmas business, getting depressed and all that. It happens to me every year. I never get what I really want. I always get a lot of stupid toys or a bicycle or clothes or something like that.
Charlie Brown: What is it you want?
Lucy Van Pelt: Real estate.
But, for us girls with curls, there was Frieda. Remember Frieda?
Lucy Van Pelt: You're the innkeeper's wife.
Frieda: Do innkeeper's wives have naturally curly hair?
I'll let you in on a little secret...there was an incident with Sally's cookie...
Who is your favorite Peanuts character? Or what is your favorite moment from A Charlie Brown Christmas?
{psst...Merry Christmas!!!}

ReplyDeleteBridget, I LOVE these cookies! That's my favorite Christmas special. These are just brilliant.
ReplyDeletePS - I am so glad I'm not the only one who over-floods cookies and has the icing spill over the side. :)
Adorably creative take on Charlie Brown and his friends. Love how your mind works.
ReplyDeleteSally's cookie just rec'd a little more decorating love than everyone else's...nothing wrong with that.
Merry Christmas Bridget :)
I've been in the hospital for most of this month, so I didn't get to send out my usual goodies. I definitely want to make these next year!!
ReplyDeleteSo so cute! My favorite part of the Charlie Brown Christmas is Sally:
ReplyDelete"All I want...is what's coming to me. All I want is my fair share."
Love this set, Bridget! I remember that movie... we watched it 100's of times... I love all the characters... Woodstock included. Merry Christmas to you, too!
ReplyDeleteyou are a creative genius! I love these, especially Sally.
ReplyDeletePeanuts specials were always my favorite, I never missed one. I still like to watch them now.
my favorite is probably Snoopy. I love the way he dances with his nose in the air... so joyful!
Happy Holidays!
Adorable! Especially Snoopy!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
My favourite character is Marcie because that's my name too! And I'm also awful at sports!
ReplyDeleteThose are too cute! I loved the peanuts and the sad little tree they had.
ReplyDeleteSO cute! I like Sally's the best!
ReplyDeleteThese are just beautiful! I love Charlie Brown. It would be cute to have a little Charlie Brown tree and decorate it with these cookie ornaments. Thanks for the inspiration. And yes, kids today have it easy. Not only can they watch the holiday specials anytime, they can also skip commercials!
ReplyDeleteI always like your cookies. ALWAYS! I like Schroeder because he is so philosophical.(Yes I had to look up how to spell that!) I like Lucy because she speaks her mind, but I don't like her yelling at Charlie Brown. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work! Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteFreaking adorable!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these!!! Snoopy is my favorite, but I may or may not have been compared to Lucy a time or two. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh I love these! They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I love this - my daughter lovingly named my son Charlie Brown, so this is so appropriate! We found our right around Christmas last year we were having a boy and after watching one too many Charlie Brown Christmas', she said "I think Charlie Brown is a good name" when we asked what she wanted to name her baby brother - and it stuck! We have all things Charlie Brown now! These cookies will probably be part of his 1st birthday for sure!
ReplyDeleteHi Bridget, I love to make biscuits but when I ice them they go soggy. How do you stop that from happening?
ReplyDeleteSo genius! Love these. Just posted a link on edible crafts :).
ReplyDeleteI need an ornament cookie cutter. There are really endless possibilities!
ReplyDeleteI think you need to post a top 10 starter cookie cutter list; just a suggestion. :) I know that I would find it very useful. :)
They're ALL beautiful. And so, so good.
ReplyDeleteso cool to see those in the mail!!! they are amazing.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! Great idea.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Brown Christmas just warms the cockles of my heart. Reminds me of my family growing up and my wonderful childhood. Your cookies are beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteI have loved Peanuts since I was about ten. I used to draw pictures of them and buy Peanuts books, among other things. Snoopy was (is) my favorite! My favorite part of A Charlie Brown Christmas is when Linus is on stage telling the Christmas story from the bible.
ReplyDeleteThese cookies are amazingly clever and oh, so cute!
I <3 these cookies! My husband and I watch the special every year and we even have a beagle because my husband loves Peanuts so much. Snoopy is my favorite character and my favorite part is when they give the sad little tree a little love and it becomes beautiful. Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteGreat cookies! My favorite part is when Linus explains the true meaning of Christmas! I feel like I might be related to Pig Pen, though, as I am usually disheveled and messy :D
ReplyDeleteAwww, I love these! And I love even more that instead of having complex faces to try to mimic, these are a bit simpler for us new-to-cookie-decorating (or old to it, but still kinda sucky, hehe). Because they're ornaments, they're more traditional, too, but I immediately "recognized" the color theme/people. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI love Charlie Brown series! and your cookies are so cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays Bridget!
So so so cute, Bridget! I especially love the Charlie ornament and as soon as I saw it got the biggest smile on my face ever! Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks for a great and inspirational 2011. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you bring us in 2012!
