Sweet on Trader Joe's Sunday : Petite Pumpkin Spice Cookies

We're in the throes of college applications and musical rehearsals ("we" meaning Jack), so I wasn't sure there would be a Trader Joe's review this week.

And then, I popped into Trader Joe's this morning for pears and milk for a recipe. (That's called a teaser. ;)) My cart ended up looking like this:

I guess we'll get that review in after all.

Trader Joe's Petite Pumpkin Spice Cookies come in a 10-ounce box and sell for $2.99. They're described as "shortbread cookies with pumpkin spice and yogurt coating." The white cookies have a yogurt coating while the rare orange cookies have a pumpkin spice coating.

A mom's (my) take: Although none of the mini cookies seem to reach the status of the mini dark chocolate mint star cookies at Christmastime, these are really darn good. The cookies are crispy and crunchy...and pack a lot of pumpkin spice flavor. In addition to fall spices, the cookies definitely have a yogurt pretzel quality, minus the salt. Good to have on hand when you're craving a little hit of pumpkin spice.
Overall rating 4 of 5 stars

A teenager's (Jack's) take: The pumpkin flavor is evident from the first bite, but isn't overpowering. I like how the yogurt coating (or pumpkin spice, if you're lucky enough to get one of those) is thin enough where you can still focus on the delicious shortbread underneath! This is another TJ's dessert that I could eat a whole box of.
