I thought about naming this post: I *heart* gold sanding sugar! (Because I do!)
These cookies were for a customer and her husband who were celebrating their...can you guess....8th wedding anniversary. (Happy Anniversary!♥) She wanted dark blue and sparkly. I really liked the gold and blue together....not too girly, but still festive!
This is AmeriColor Navy Blue. In the past, I've had problems with darker blues bleeding, but not this one...I love AmeriColor Gel/Paste food colorings!
Short post...I'm being paged for pizza and movie night! Every Friday, we eat pizza and watch a movie together. Oh, we live an exciting life around here! How do you spend YOUR Friday nights?!?!?
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Be sure to stop by this post to ask your cookies decorating questions....

ReplyDeleteYum, pizza and a movie sounds like a great Friday night! :)
How pretty are these! I too have been married for 8 years... we used to spend our Friday nights doing Tequila shots... lol. Now, after the kids go to bed at 8pm, we try to stay awake and watch a movie, but we fall asleep soon after it starts! Good times, way different than being 25, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. :)

What are we doing on this Friday night?

So....Greg is REWATCHING the enatire Bama/TX game! Oh Lordy!
And he will probably rewatch it time and time again!
At least it gives me an excuse to be over here in the chair with my laptop...enjoying blog hopping!
Happy Weekend to you Miss Bridget!
XXOOXX
wow these are so nice!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies are adorable (as all of your cookies are!), but I have one question. The navy blue doesn't look very dark. Is it the lighting in the photos, or is navy another of those colors that needs to "bloom"?
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful way to spend a Friday night - Andrew is only five - so he goes to bed around 7ish - then my husband and I watch our DVR shows (not many - but we love a few - Ugly Betty, Modern Family, old Frasiers). It's fun to us! Beautiful cookies!
ReplyDeletethose are beautiful! our movie nights tend to be chicken nugget, french fry, and applesauce dinners. pizza can still be kind of tough for a 2 year old. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese cookies are adorable!
ReplyDeletei only work Monday through Wednesday so Friday night just kind of feels like every other night. When I was little, my mom worked later on Fridays so dinner was always "fend for yourselves" so I'd go to my best friends house down the street because Friday night always meant McDonalds :)
ReplyDeleteThe Anniversary cookies are beautiful, I will have to try to use some sanding sugar! I love my big cake cookie cutter :)

ReplyDeleteFriday is always "Date Night."
ReplyDeleteWhen My husband and I were dating, we rarely had time to see each other due to school. On Fridays, we would book the nights off (from work) and skip out of school work to do some kind of activity together.
8 years later, we are still practicing it. :)
We had a movie night on Thursday which felt like friday because on the snow day!! We watched 17 Again - have you seen it? cute movie.
ReplyDeleteLast night Allison had a friend spend the night, a little sledding, and then they babysat a friends 3 year old at our house....made hot chocolate, watched Dr. Seuss and Scooby Doo and played hid and seek! LOL

Those look yum & gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWe love movies, the Wii or board games on Friday nights. Nothing is more fun than playing Boggle with a seven year old! :)
God's blessings,
Sarah :D
I love these, and I love that they are blue!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fun pizza night! :-)
These are so lovely - and the gold sanding sugar rocks my face off. Great post!
ReplyDeleteHey Lydia...you are right on all counts. The blue isn't a TRUE navy blue, but it's darker than I would usually do. I think AmeriColor needs a "super" navy blue. They look a little lighter because of the sunlight from the window and they will darken up a bit, too.
ReplyDeleteThe turned out lovely. Ilove sanding sugar, period!
ReplyDeleteMy Friday nights are about the same. We watch movies or argue, I mean play games together. The kids often have friends over as well.

These are gorgeous, I love looking at your pictures!
ReplyDeleteFriday used to be our pizza night too, but since we work in the movies, we never watch them unless they are on tv.
And since we had the baby 7 months ago and I've been home, frankly, Friday night is just like every other night. I'm lucky I know its Friday. And pizza night has become whatever night I can't stand to cook another meal!
Beautiful cookies Bridget! The gold sanding sugar adds just the right pizzazz!
ReplyDeleteOoh! I love the blue/gold combo. They're such happy colors together. I bought the navy blue coloring awhile back online and haven't used it yet. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cookies! You always inspire me.
