Sweet on Trader Joe's Sunday: Ginger Snowball Cookies

Trader Joe's review: Ginger Snowball Cookies | a weekly he said/she said review series from Bake at 350
We're not ones to toot our own horns, but Mr. E and I did a public service at Trader Joe's yesterday. We were in line, I'd say minding our own business, but you'll see in a minute that that's not true. The people in the line next to us were looking at the display of Kringles. They asked an employee, "what are these?" I didn't give the employee a beat to answer before I blurted out, "YOU NEED ONE." Mr. E and I waxed poetic about all things Kringle. They put one in their cart, and we rested easy knowing we had done some good in this crazy world.

Anyhoo. Our review today is of Trader Joe's Ginger Snowball Cookies. I don't recall seeing this product before, so I think it's brand new for the holidays. Price? Um, I tossed the receipt, but I'm going to guess $2.69-ish.

The description on the box reads, "buttery cookies studded with ginger and rolled in powdered sugar."

He (Mr. E) says: Perfect size. Just the right amount of ginger, which lingers a bit like a fine wine. The texture is ever-so-slightly off for me and is the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars. But, these pack the flavors as advertised on the box.
Overall rating: 4 of 5 stars

She says: Little, crunchy, gingery nuggets. While I wouldn't eat handfuls of these straight out of the box like I would with, let's say the Mini Dark Chocolate Mint Stars, they are just perfect with a cup of tea.
Overall rating: 4 of 5 stars

  3. Just got these for $3.99 and they are totally worth it! I've seen them in my store at least for a couple of years with the other cookies over the freezers. Anyway, they have that ginger taste that kicks in later when you really get to the chunks of ginger. Did you know that those chunks are what keeps one from inhaling 10 right off the bat? I like that because the whole box would be gone fast.

  5. These ginger cookies are awesome and not messy. I think they could be a replacement for their usual holiday pfeffernusse, which they are not carrying. After purchasing one box, I was told they'd discontinued them due to quality :(. Trader Joe has the best store cookies. BTW, anyone else miss the quadruple almond cookies they no longer have
