Last week as I was debating cookie ideas, my son said, "can we make some just to have around the house?" He never asks for cookies (I think he's eaten too many of my mistakes), so I jumped at the chance to make some together.
We decided to try out some mini Easter cutters and just do simple outlines and sparkling sugar.
I just love seeing that BOY'S ARM and digital watch cutting cookies! And boy, did we have cookies!!!

Hubby decided to join us for decorating. They actually had fun! (I was a little worried. Never fear, they are getting their "man time" in now watching Star Wars Clone Wars.)

Total concentration....notice the arched eyebrows! :)
I love the face on this little guy!
How about these? I can't decide which is my favorite....the bunny with the glasses or the "surprised" one.
One day left for Easter baking! Need some inspiration?
Today (Saturday) Bake at 350's pantry is being featured at The Perfect Pantry. Go on over and check out Lydia's blog. It's full of great recipes, info and yes, pantries! :) Thanks, Lydia!
And, before I forget again....the winner of the King Arthur Scone giveaway was Lorie. Thanks for entering! :)
Have a Happy Easter!
So cute. Can't wait till my little guys are old enough to help. My husband would look the exact same if he was decorating cookies...Harley shirt and all. Does he ride a Harley?
ReplyDeleteNo, but he'd like to! ;) My dad is the Harley rider in the family.
ReplyDeleteI definitely love the surprised bunny best! Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get started! I think tomorrow is day one of my cookie making future... looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThey look adorable together decorating cookies. My little guy is all to grown up to want to bake cookies with me. He use to be my little helper when he was 5, but now he's 15. Whew, where does time go? Enjoy your little man, those are precious time and great moments.
ReplyDeleteThe cookies are really cute and I love the bunnies, but the eggs are super cute.
Happy Easter. :)
Definitely the bunny with the glasses gets my vote! Your guys are rock star cookie decorators -- they could come to my cookies-for-donation party any time!
ReplyDeleteIt shows in their face they had a great time... I love family time :)
ReplyDeleteFun! I think I liked the surprised face! They all turned out cute!
ReplyDeleteHOW SWEET I LOVE THESE PICTURES :) I SEE HUBBY IS WEARING HARLEY SHIRT TO MAKE THE PROCESS MORE MAN-LY :)I LOVE ALL THE EGG AND BUNNY COOKIES MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT INSTEAD OF EGGS THIS YEAR!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they had fun!
ReplyDeleteMy dd bailed on my to spend the night with a friend, so I didn't have any help! LOL

So cute! We don't EVER decorate cookies for fun.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should.
And I definitely like the surprised bunny the best!
Looks like fun. Allee would be thrilled if I would "let her" decorate with me. I am always in such a hurry to get my projects done.
ReplyDeleteI really like your chicks, hearts and clovers with sanding sugar. Could you give me some advice on where to get that? Also, a good source for the black writers.
LeeAnn...
ReplyDeleteI've purchased sanding sugar from Sugar Craft before, although I think their website is a little hard to navigate. (Hope that link works.) Also, I get it at Make-a-Cake in Houston...the same place where I got the pens. It looks like Sugar Craft sells the pens, too.
I know what you mean...this had to be a "special" project for family cookie decorating. The kitchen is normally closed to "visitors" when I'm making them. ;)
Aw, that's cool that your guys were decorating together. Bet there wasn't any bickering over someone hogging the sprinkles! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Checked out your pantry! Everything is so neat!

I love all these pics. It looks like so much fun. Sweet cookies, and I bet they tasted DELICIOUS!
ReplyDeleteMy first visit to your blog...very nice! I love seeing your family participate.
ReplyDeleteIf a rabbit makes you look bad, then all that cookie decorating makes me look bad. We're even :D
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog - love it!
ReplyDeleteVery cute having your boys decorating - somehow I can't see my hubby doing this ;)
How fun is that! I love doing things like that with my nieces (my son is not old enough yet). I love the one with the glasses!
ReplyDeleteI like the one with glasses.
ReplyDeletelove dad
How fun!
ReplyDeleteI think these are the best cookies you've ever blogged about!
ReplyDeleteI just love those bunnies, too cute!
ReplyDeleteI tried your cookie recipe and the dough fell right apart it didn't look like yours so neatly rolled out at all, help!
Multi-tasking Mommy...the dough is a thick dough; don't be afraid to work with it until it is cohesive. Using a floured surface and rolling pin helps; sometimes I have to really coat the dough in flour. Cutting the cookies thick should keep them from falling apart. Hope that helps. :)
