We're veering away from mango this week (I was ready) and moving on to blueberry.

These Trader Joe's Blueberry Poppy Seed Cookies are a new item. A 7-ounce box of cookies runs $3.99. Trader Joe's describes these as "crisp, buttery shortbread cookies with dried blueberries and poppy seeds."

A mom's (my) take: Dry. That's the first word that came to mind while eating these. I do love a chewy dried blueberry, but somehow they don't seem to work here. If you're a lover of shortbread, you might find this nice with a cup of tea, but they were not my favorite.
Overall rating: 3 of 5 stars

A teenager's (Jack's) take: The blueberry flavor on these is awesome! It is pretty strong, despite it them being in dried, cookie-worthy form. Shortbread as a base matches well with the blueberries, and is of a lighter, less buttery variety (with a great aftertaste, though) that is more reminiscent of scones than cookies. All in all, though, you won't want to miss these!
Overall rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
