Sweet on Trader Joe's Sunday : Mocha Crunch Cremes

Trader Joe's Mocha Crunch Cremes
We're a little behind on our Trader Joe's reviews. Never fear...we're still EATING plenty of Trader Joe's goodies.

First off...Jack has a little announcement of his own. (psst...click here.) Mr. E has suggested that in the fall this series should be renamed, "Trader Joe's Goes to College." It might also be called, "Bake at 350 Moves to a College Town." ;)

Mocha Crunch Cremes. Trader Joe's has a plethora of coffee-flavored treats in-store right now. I generally steer clear of them since Jack is not the biggest coffee fan. I couldn't resist these, though.

A 6-ounce package costs $3.49.

A moms' (my) take: Oh my. Creamy and chocolatey with a big burst of coffee flavor, these cremes are very truffle-like. The chocolate is silky and rich with a crunch from tiny bits of ground coffee beans. Good coffee flavor without any bitterness. If you love chocolate-covered espresso beans, you'll love these. Similar taste, but with more chocolate. A perfect afternoon pick-me-up.
Overall rating: 5 of 5 stars

A teenager's (Jack's) take: These little guys pack a flavorful punch, and are enjoyable even for non-coffee fans! The truly "creamy" milk chocolate gives way quickly to a still-chocolatey, but noticeably coffee-flavored interior. I love that this flavor is subtle enough to be noticed, but not too strong. If only they weren't individually wrapped, then I could eat them faster...
Overall rating: 5 out of 5 stars

  1. Congratulations to him! I am a Boston College graduate but have a brother that went to ND and a sister graduating from there this year...yes, we are a house divided :) I have spent a lot of time at ND over the past several years and it is a magical place. He's going to love it.
