Wednesday Replay: Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation Decorated Cookies

My niece is making her First Holy Communion in June - which got me thinking about years of baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation cookies. This week, we revisit them for our Wednesday Replay. Click the links for the tutorials and recipes!

How to Make Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation Decorated Cookies

I have a lot of cut-out cookie recipes on the blog, but I love just simple vanilla-almond cut-outs or vanilla bean cut-out cookies for these. Don't forget this easy gluten-free cookie recipe for decorating! They were all decorated using my go-to royal icing recipe

Pink, tiny roses, ruffled onesies...there's so much to love here. Using a simple and unified color palette makes decorating several different cookie shapes a breeze.

I love these because I made the exact same design for Jack's First Communion. This post also includes one of my favorite photos of my sweet little Jack - rocking his First Communion suit! I'd love to go back to this day! Time machine, anyone?

First Communion Cookies with Heart to match felt banner

I don't think it's ancient tradition, but somewhere down the line, felt banners became synonymous with First Communions. I made these cookies to coordinate with my nephew's felt banner square.

Another nephew, another First Communion cookie delivery! (Somehow, my nephew Leo's cookies never made it on the blog. I'm not sure how that happened.) Anyhoo...I love this set. I would happily make Rosary cookies all day long.

Oh wait! They didn't make it to the blog, but I do have photos of Leo's cookies. Very similar to the set above (I wasn't kidding about loving those Rosary cookies!), but the cross is marbled. I used the same technique I used when making these marbled star cookies

Alternate photo title: I thought that ribbon was really artsy. Ugh. I'd made dove cookies for Confirmation celebrations before these, but I'm head over heels for this dove cookie shape! The design is simple and pretty. These are great cookies to give to a Confirmation class!

I cannot wait to make cookies for my niece's First Communion in June! She's a big fan of unicorns....think I could get away with adding one to the mix?!?
